April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and time for the Illinois Valley Safe House Alliance to host their annual Soup for the Souls fundraiser on Saturday, April 25th. This event just keeps getting better and better and since this is the Alliance’s 20th Anniversary, this year will have some exciting surprises. We will be serving delicious soups donated by area restaurants and breads provided by local bakers. Still only a $15 suggested donation, which buys you all of the soup and bread you can eat and you get to select a bowl to keep from a collection of beautiful artisan bowls and vintage finds. Suggested donation for children under 12 is $5. Doors will open at 5:00. In fairness to all, the door will remain closed until then.
There will be a silent auction with a variety of items to choose from, lots of raffle items, a 50/50 raffle, great door prizes and our fantastic cake walk will be back again this year, so get ready for some good food, good friends and good times all for a good cause!
