Are you looking to add a POP of COLOR to your art? Perhaps you grabbed a simple 3 or 5 color paint set and don’t know where to begin? We invite you to join us at the Guild Gallery & Art Center in Kerby on Sunday June 25 from 1-4pm for Color Theory I for Beginners, led by professional local artist Kristen O’Neill, where you’ll gain an understanding and confidence in color and color mixing. During this 3-hour workshop, you’ll use a variety of painting colors and supplies to explore and learn how to create the colors YOU desire in your art through:
• Using a color wheel
• Investigating a wide range of paint colors
• Choosing a palette to meet your needs
• Practicing mixing to desired colors
• Color Mixing by understanding how warm and cool primaries create a wide variety of colors
We’ll focus on creating REALISTIC colors for paintings, understanding color charts, and learning how to put together a color palette to meet your needs. You’ll walk away with tips and tricks on how to mix the colors you want and avoid creating “mud!” This class is applicable to all beginner painters using an opaque medium (oil, acrylic, gouache) who are either learning color for the first time or who would like a review. All materials will be provided and included in your selected class fee-sliding scale $45-$65.
