F.E.A.S.T. Events to Provide $5K in Grants to Address Food Insecurity in

by | Oct 26, 2020 | Health and Wellness

Residents of Josephine County face serious challenges when it comes to food access and
nutrition. In an effort to bring communities in Josephine County together to address gaps in the
food system, the Rogue Valley Food System Network, in partnership with local community
leaders from Cave Junction Farmers Market and OSU Extension, among others, applied to
participate in F.E.A.S.T. (Food. Education. Agriculture. Solutions. Together.) and was one of
four communities to receive funding.
Community members are invited to participate in any of four local community conversations and
one inclusive county-wide meeting. Through a series of facilitated conversations, participants
will be invited to visualize their ideal community food system and brainstorm strategies and
projects. Participants will then gather virtually on November 11, 2020. Josephine County
F.E.A.S.T. has been awarded $5,000 from the Oregon Food Bank.
A $5 gift card to the Grants Pass Growers Market and a recipe featuring seasonal items will be
provided. Participants are encouraged to join the Zoom call early to share a meal.
Translation services and technology support will be available upon request. Contact Abigail
