The Southern Oregon Guild of Artists & Artisans invites you to the latest summer class in our Creative Community Online Series. On Wednesdays June 9th & June 16th from 5-7 PM PDT on ZOOM, learn to make a gorgeous, multi-purpose 9″ x 30″ fabric banner as a method of up-cycling scrap fabric into something beautiful! Inspired by nature’s shapes and employing the sensuous lines of curves, local textile artist Jean Robertson has developed a pattern she will share with participants as they create their art banners. Jean’s approach supports developing an eye for great composition and experimenting with unusual combinations of color and texture, while working within a framework that will guide participants to success. With the detailed and skillful instruction from Jean Robertson, participants will create stunning banners that can be used as a wall hanging, table runner, turned into a bag, or even made into sleeves of a jacket!
Fees are on a sliding scale from $40 to $60. Subsidized rate is $25. Email [email protected] to inquire about available scholarships. Hand-selected fabrics and banner pattern are provided and included in the price of the class. Materials Pick Up: Monday June 7th, from 4-6PM at the Southern Oregon Guild’s Gallery in Kerby, OR.
