Library offers resume-building program to local job seekers

Interview tips, buzzwords, social media presence to be covered

Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Williams, February 3, 2023— Local job seekers are invited to learn about resume-building, formatting cover letters, and job hunting with local expert Teresa Stover during the month of February at three branches of Josephine Community Library.

The schedule for the “Your Resume for the Job” program is as follows:

Saturday, February 11 from 12–1:30 pm at the Illinois Valley branch

Saturday, February 18 from 1–2:30 pm at the Williams branch

Saturday, February 25 from 1–2:30 pm at the Grants Pass branch

During this program participants will learn about formatting a resume and cover letter, including buzzwords to increase chances of getting an interview. Program attendees can gain tips for improving social media presence and leave with resources to help ace interviews.

Registration is not required, and a library card is not needed to participate. Accommodations to join virtually are available — email [email protected].

“Your Resume for the Job” is part of the Life Happens series through Josephine Community Library: Managing life’s everyday challenges in a constantly changing world.

Teresa Stover, owner of Stover Writing Services, is a technical writing and project management consultant, and therefore often markets herself for the next gig. For several clients, she’s written job descriptions and postings, set up hiring processes, and sat on interview panels. In the process, she has reviewed many resumes for a variety of jobs and now offers techniques and tips for building your most effective resume.
