Library recruits for budget committee member

Community members are invited to apply for a three-year term

Grants Pass, January 4, 2021 — Josephine Community Library is seeking two community members to fill three-year Budget Committee seats by February 1, 2021.

Residents who live in the library district are eligible to apply for the position. Applications are available on the library website at josephinelibrary.org and due by February 1, 2021 by 12:00pm PST. The board of directors will make the appointment at the February 17, 2020 board meeting.

According to Oregon local budget law, the Josephine Community Library Budget Committee is to be made up of the five board members and five more appointed registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the library district. The appointed members may not be officers, agents, or employees of the district. All members of the Budget Committee have equal authority.

To find out if you live in the library district boundary, visit josephinelibrary.org and click the library cards link at the top of the page. Choose “Am I in the district?” from the “Who can get a library card?” section.
