Fish Lake, OR – In celebration of Oregon’s Free Fishing Weekend (June 2-3), the Medford Bureau of Land Management and the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest are once again teaming up for their annual free fishing event. This year’s event will be held at Fish Lake on Saturday, June 2. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.

Fishing rods and tackle will be provided to give kids the chance to wet a line, and there will be plenty of other activities for families to participate in. Families can also learn how to measure fish and make a “fish print” painting, using real salmon and steelhead. Rangers will host ranger talks and provide grab bags, and Smokey Bear will also be making an appearance to take photos and dole out Smokey Hugs!

Please join us for a great day of fun at the lake and learn about all things fish-related and the natural world at Fish Lake!

You can track this event and see pictures of previous years’ events at the RRSNF’s Facebook Event page.
