Rogue Community College will issue $425,000 in emergency assistance to students next week to promote student resilience during an extended period of remote learning, and to the students who are persisting in their education to complete their degree or credential. The emergency assistance is being funded through the Governor’s Education Emergency Relief (GEER) fund and the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF).

The emergency assistance will be disbursed during the week of Feb. 22 to approximately 3,370 winter term students. These funds will not be applied to current or future balances; the funds are being distributed directly to students. Students accepting these funds must confirm they will be used for food, housing, course materials, health care, child care, technology-related expenses, transportation and/or other expenses incurred related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19 pandemic.

During spring term, RCC will issue an additional $1.26 million of emergency assistance to enrolled students. This emergency assistance is funded through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA).
