Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District Area Closure Reduced

by | Oct 23, 2020 | Recreation

MEDFORD, OR October 23, 2020 – Effective Friday, October 23, 2020, the area closed for safety reasons near the Devil Fire has once again been reduced in size.

Public lands closures remain in effect near the Slater Fire and Devil Fire to reduce interference with emergency crews and allow for fire suppression and burned area recovery. The revised Forest Closure Order is effective October 23, 2020, and replaces the previous closure. It’s effective until December 15, 2020, unless sooner rescinded.

Please remain vigilant while out on your public lands, as fire season is not over yet! Help us thank firefighters, and protect your community from new, human-caused fires by following the public use restrictions that are still in place. Current fire danger, and other useful information can be found on the RRSNF’s website, and regular updates are also posted on the Facebook and Twitter pages.
