Are you passionate about sustainability and looking to be part of cultivating a local food harvesting network? Spiral Living Center is seeking to hire a new 2022 coordinator for our IV Gleaning Project!

Spiral Living Center (SLC) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting sustainable living skills in the Illinois Valley since 2006. The IV Gleaning Project provides healthy, fresh food to local families in need by harvesting extra food from local farms, gardens and orchards and distributing it throughout the Illinois Valley. SLC is looking to contract with an energetic and self directed person to oversee the Gleaning Project as the Gleaning Coordinator for the 2022 season.

The Gleaning Coordinator acts as an ambassador to the agricultural community and backyard growers by seeking gleaning sites. The Gleaning Coordinator will also deliver gleaned produce to food banks and programs in the Illinois Valley, organize and lead the gleans, work with partner agencies to distribute gleaned produce, and recruit volunteers for the IV Gleaning Project.

This position is a paid contract job for 10 hours per week at $20/hr working 12 total weeks during the fall season. Ideal candidates must either live in or be able to reliably travel to Cave Junction, Takilma, Grants Pass, and surrounding areas in the Illinois Valley.
