Youth Virtual Book Club

Library offers first virtual book club for youth ages 10-14

Grants Pass, September 28, 2020 —During the month of October, youth ages 10-14 are invited to join the library’s first youth virtual book club reading “El Deafo” by Cece Bell.  All participants will receive a free copy of the book.  Discussion questions will be posted weekly through Google Classroom and youth can participate at their own pace.

“We’re excited to give students an opportunity to connect about a fun book with a serious theme,” said Illinois Valley Branch Manager Roberta Lee.

“El Deafo” is a graphic novel loosely based on the author’s childhood and growing up living with her deafness.

The youth virtual book club is a supplement to support educational programs and comprehensive distance learning for students in Josephine County. The program will begin on October 3 and run through November 7.  Pre-registration is required and youth can join at any time.
