At The Guild Gallery: The Art of Balance

We invite you to join us Sunday April 28 from 3-5pm at the Guild Gallery in Kerby for the opening of The Art of Balance. This FREE opening celebration will include live jazz music from Terry D. Davis, light appetizers and refreshments, and a chance to hear from participating artists who have their work on display and/or participated in our group collaborative piece for this show. Featuring artwork from current Guild Members, this spring member exhibit explores the definitions of balance. There are many ways to think about balance: a ballerina on point, harmony of thought, the end result of a banking transaction, and rocks stacked as sculptures are just a few. The equinox of spring celebrates balance – equal night and day, as our planet turns towards summer. April is also known as Earth Month, when the balance or lack thereof in our environment, is brought to the forefront of our awareness. We all think of terms such as balance differently, yet cohesion abounds.
