IVCanDO and Guild Mortgage Host Homebuyer Readiness Workshop
Kerby, OR March 19, 2018— The Illinois Valley Community Development Organization (IVCanDO) will host Mary Tillery of Guild Mortgage in a free workshop to prepare Illinois Valley residents to become qualified home buyers, on Tuesday, April 3, from 6-8pm at the Kerby Belt Building, 24353 Redwood Avenue, Kerby.
Increasing housing is a goal under the IV 20/20 Strategic Plan. IVCanDO has been helping housing developers connect with state housing agency resources, especially in support of increasing the number of homes deemed ‘affordable’ under state guidelines. Building will soon be under way. Local families considering a purchase may need some time to get their finances in order.
“This free class is an introductory first step to understanding the home buying process,” said IVCanDO Community Development Coordinator Kate Dwyer. “Participants will learn what next steps to take in organizing their financial picture. Mary will demystify the home purchasing process, step by step. ” There is no obligation to utilize Guild Mortgage, and the information could apply to any home purchase.
